Library Information/Programs Library Nook Club Begins Nov 2011A limited number of students were invited to join Anasazi’s new Library Nook Club as we are piloting color ereaders purchased with Capital Override funds. The students meet every other week before school to discuss their reading. Their color Nooks have been loaded with nine award-winning titles. Students love the ereader features that allow them to look up word definitions and higlight passages of text. Depending on the success of the pilot, Nooks may be purchased for other sites. At this time our school owns 12 color Nooks. Anasazi Easy/Everybody cornerAnasazi Library Computers & Reading RetreatWould you like to help at Anasazi? ..Volunteers Needed...
"We can not always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future." Franklin Delano Roosevelt Parent and grandparent volunteers are an important part of the Anasazi School Library Program. If you have a couple of hours each week to donate to the library, we could use your help with shelviing books, checking books in and out, assisting students in finding books, helping students at the computers, and working with us on special library projects to promote reading and assist classrooms with their reading needs. Get Fired Up for Reading! Mrs. Grant has organized a small group of 4th and 5th grade students to participate in a "pilot" program funded with override technology monies. Students will be reading titles on color Nook tablets and discussing their chosen books in club. This project is one of the many ways Anasazi School is working with students on 21st century learning skills. Two school librarians have volunteered to pilot the Nooks this year; Mrs. Grant and Mrs. Ewers at Arcadia High School library.
